AMD Accelerates Chip Production for Xbox Series X and PS5

In video games, the biggest deadline of the year is around Christmas.  A crucial moment in world consumption, it is during this end of the year period that Microsoft and Sony have to release their new next-gen consoles, Xbox Series X and PS5.

An Xbox Series X under the Christmas tree...

With the Coronavirus pandemic and the shutdown of factories in China at the start of the year, there are concerns about a real launch at the end of the year.  In recent years, Phil Spencer has been reassuring regarding the launch of the Xbox Series X at the end of 2020, but if the demand is very strong for this new Xbox, some people are already worried about a possible stock which would not be enough to fill all the players.

This week, we were just talking about the production of the Xbox Series X in Asia which seems to be happening right now.  It must be said that with millions of consoles to deliver in a handful of months, it should not be long.

 AMD chip maker accelerates...

The technical specs of the Xbox Series X are impressive and to make it all go, it's AMD that heats the silicon since the manufacturer is responsible for the chips for the next two consoles!

AMD announced a record last quarter in revenue with $ 1.79 billion generated, up 40% from the same period last year.  The order book is beautiful to see and its Ryzen 4000 processors are a hit.

Lisa Su, the boss of AMD says to have gained market shares for the tenth consecutive quarter and announces that significant incomes will be expected in the second quarter and in the second half as the company "accelerates production to support the launches of  new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles this holiday season.  "

For the moment, the planets seem aligned so that an Xbox Series X can end up under the players' tree this year.
