Apple would no longer supply a charger in the iPhone 12 box

According to the often relevant Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple could no longer provide a charging unit, or even headphones with its next iPhone 12. A measure that would be ecological, but also economical.

Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst specializing in information about Apple, reports today that the next editions of smartphones with the apple may no longer include accessories in their box. A decision which, if verified, would be highly questionable.

Publicity..
A few weeks ago, a first rumor announced the imminent disappearance of EarPods in the boxes of the iPhone 12. A controversial choice that could be explained quite simply for Apple. Everyone has a pair of headphones, be it EarPods or models from other brands. Since the withdrawal of the 3.5 mm mini-jack sockets on the iPhone, owners have been able to switch to wireless headphones, or even AirPods. These could also be a logical explanation for the outright removal of headphones in the package of future iPhones.

Apple ready to abandon the charger...
According to Kuo, Cupertino could also not include a charger with its iPhone 12 and would even plan to remove those present in the iPhone SE 2020 before the end of the year. A rather strange decision insofar as the company has just proposed 18 W chargers with its iPhone 11 Pro, after years of being confined to a simple 5 W block. Above all, the position that Apple would adopt would be completely against the tide of what is currently done with all the other manufacturers. It has launched a battle for whoever will have the fastest charge, and for some time now, we have seen huge 65 W charge blocks pass, capable of recharging smartphones in the space of 30 min. If you compare, Tim Cook's firm is a bad student when it comes to fast charging.

The deletion of the offer of the charging block in the box could be possible if the iPhone 12 allowed a charging capacity greater than 18 W. We could imagine 30 to 40 W, which would be sufficient to offer a charge much faster than 'at present. Also, this would allow us to use our Mac charger, or even another charge block already in our possession.

The first reason cited to justify the disappearance of the block is ecological. Indeed, Apple would only have to package the phone (with its Lightning cable) to offer smaller boxes and thus ship more devices at once. Another reason put forward is the cost of 5G. We are pretty sure by now, the iPhone 12 will all adopt 5G. An additional cost to add to smartphones, which in theory should increase their selling price. By removing the accessories from the box, Apple would save money and could therefore offer its iPhone 12 without increasing the prices. Finally, we can see here a desire on the part of the Californian company to turn to a world of wireless charging. The simple removal of the charging block could lead people to rely on induction chargers - and why not the AirPower whose return could be done soon.

A 20 W block supplied with the next iPad
The rumor indicating the absence of the charging block with future iPhones is all the more intriguing as other gossip reports of a 20 W charging block that could see the light of day this year. This would be reserved for the next iPad and iPad mini we were talking about in early June. It would have been more logical to also develop it for the next iPhone and to include it in the boxes. But no, it seems that to be able to take advantage of it, you will have to buy it separately or get one of these new iPads (but the price will not be the same).
